As the second largest economy in Latin America and one of the key energy exporters, Mexico’s energy consumption has been growing year by year, leading to the rise of demand for solar power. With the strong support of Mexico’s new energy policy, it has been estimated that the installed capacity of PV in Mexico will reach 14.1GW by 2021. By then, Mexico will become the world’s seventh largest PV market. The Solar Power Mexico exhibition is focusing on Mexico’s vast opportunities for renewable energy development, and it is an important platform for developing emerging markets in solar energy, energy storage, and related fields.
In this exhibition, Suntech designed to seize on huge opportunities for the future development of the Mexican solar market. A series of high-quality and efficient modules were exhibited, including P-type monocrystalline PERC bifacial double-glass modules, P-type monocrystalline PERC half-cell bifacial double-glass modules and smart modules. Among them, the output power of half-cell bifacial double-glass modules has been measured to be as high as 380-390W. The technology which combine with bifacial cell and double-glass module can enhance power generation by as much as 25%. Half-cell technology can optimize the electrical circuit and reduce internal energy loss. This new feature steadily improves the power of these solar modules and delivers added benefits to customers.
In 2018, Suntech showed good performance in the Mexican market. Relying on its brand image and its years of continuous investment in the Mexican PV market, Suntech has entered into many cooperative agreements with its customers. These efforts have brought Suntech’s total shipments up to 180MW. In 2019, Suntech will continue to develop the Mexican market and offer customers high-quality and efficient modules to lay its foundation for developing the American market.
